Lucas Land

The first time I worked with glass, I was 14. I had signed my brother and myself up for a marble-making class, driven by a simple question: How is glass made? What I discovered that day was how difficult—and how mesmerizing—the process really is. I left that day knowing one thing: I had to keep going.

Two years later, I built my first studio in a shed in my mom’s backyard. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to get to work. I taught myself everything I could about glassblowing, piece by piece. In time, I began to sell my work—but I needed a more stable income. That led me to carpentry, and eventually to timber framing, high-end cabinet shops, and some unforgettable projects that taught me precision, patience, and respect for materials.

But glass was always calling.

In 2019, I opened my studio at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell, MA—this time built with my own hands and a clear sense of purpose. In 2021, I took the leap and committed to blowing glass full-time.

Today, every piece I make is hand-blown, silver-infused, and crafted without molds. Each one is a singular object—made to shift with light, use, and time. It’s functional art for everyday life, and a reflection of everything I’ve learned along the way: how to trust the process, honor the material, and keep showing up to do the work.
